Leather craftsmen, a time travel machine, a zoo or a travel agency... yes it can be difficult to describe the Atelier du Bracelet Parisien as it is much more than just a leather-strap maker. We are real craftsmen ( our company was recognized as a living heritage by the French Republic) so all of our products are created in our shop/workshop in Paris. We offer an incredible choice of leathers with so many different colors, textures and looks. Our reputation, our interest and even the reason why we exist is due to the fact that we are so unique in the world of fine leather craft.
Now, let's imagine that you are Mr James Bond! James loves Rolex watches and he thinks that you will never be a very good special agent unless you own a Submariner. As James he's known to be 7 times better than other special agents, he has now decided to make his Rolex Submariner extra special...dressing up with a leather strap! This is how he ends up in the leather watchbands' temple ABP. |

The visit starts with the wide choice of leathers, colors, tannings that ABP offers him : watchbands in crocodile, in alligator, toad, lizard, ostrich, ostrich leg, emu, calf, buffalo, pig, goat, llama, madras, stingray (shagreen), kangaroo, perch, shark (tiger or dogfish), seal, beaver tail, anaconda, cobra, python... Mr Bond first choice is our honey brown special tanning of alligator ACZ3. After showing him how to easily change straps by himself , he chose another waxed and aged special tanning in black ACZ0 (the ACZ are ABP exclusives) that almost has the same texture of a wetsuit... after all the Submariner was the first watch in history to be water resistant to a minimum of 100 meters (330 ft) depth. |

Once the leathers chosen, there are many options (thickness, color, lining, stitching, shape of the tip, keepers,...) in order to customize his watchband. James prefers same tone stitching because he thinks the special tannings have enough character and personality. He also goes for a same tone lining on both straps and a nicely padded thickness. Last but not least he wants the “thick attachements for Rolex”, a system that ABP created in order for the strap to come closer to the watch case (see the results on the photos at the bottom of the page).
People who’ve already tried a classic leather strap on a Submariner know why this option is needed ! Before the ordering process is over, here comes the final stage : choosing which precise part of the alligator skin is going to be used for the making of the strap. If our leather “cutter” man feels like it then Mr Bond will experience making the first cut !

Way too impatient to see his time keeper newly dressed, Mr Bond wants to pay extra and have his watchbands ready in 90 minutes. Trimming & paring the leather, assembling, cutting, stitching, dyeing and finishing are some of the many stages following one another until the two straps are ready to be handed over...

Mr. Bond is now so happy to end his visit to ABP with a watch almost looking like a new one but he has to take one last decision... should he have a range of holes (to use with his deployment buckle) or only one (made-to-measure)? Final results : we love how the straps look like (photos below)...what do you think?
